Background

The Society was founded in 1994 to formalise the ad hoc links between academic and applied research and commercial and environmental interests.
It is incorporated in the State of Texas as a Nonprofit Corporation and registered in the U.S.A. as a tax-exempt publicly supported organisation.
It seeks particularly to foster interactions between the various groups and to provide a common voice for discussions with other scientific societies and organisations.
